HOW WE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR "BLACK & WHITE" IMAGES

A sharp eye will already notice that there are some photos with color. After copying these photos, we run them rhrough Photoshop and increase the saturation. Photos that are truly black and white images will always remain black and white no matter how much the saturation is increased. Those that have any color at all, will be easily noticed.

As you can see, at least five photos have color. When we see photos with color, we have Facebook send the poster a notification and a warning. It is our hope, that the photographer will learn how to make his/her photo a true black and white image.

If, after 3 warnings, we will suspend the member for a few days. If they post another photo with color, making that 4 violations, we will suspend that member for 28 days. If they continue to post photos with color we will ban them from membership in the group and remove all of their photos. Please help us with this by making sure your photos are true black and white imags.

Membership in Black & White Photographers requires every member to read and follow the group’s rules. Anyone who does not agree to these rules is not permitted to join or remain in the group.

While many other “black & white” groups allow monochrome or even full‑color images, this group is dedicated exclusively to true black‑and‑white photography. Preserving that standard is essential to the purpose and identity of our community.

Each member is responsible for understanding and complying with the group rules.

All photos posted in Black & White Photographers are scanned in Photoshop to check for the presence of color. When color is detected, the following actions are taken:

The photo is deleted. Facebook automatically sends a notification containing our information and instructions on how to correct the image. This first reminder is intended to help the member understand the rule and fix the issue before posting again.

The photo is deleted, and Facebook again sends the correction information. At this point, we expect the member to recognize the need to ensure their images contain no color and to follow the group’s rules.

The photo is deleted, and Facebook sends the correction notice. After three color‑containing posts in 90 days, the member is suspended from the group for seven (7) days. This suspension is intended to give the member time to correct their workflow so they may continue participating in the group.

The photo is deleted, and Facebook sends the correction notice. At this stage, it becomes clear that the member is not making an effort to follow the rules. A 28‑day suspension is imposed in the hope that the member will take the necessary steps to comply and remain part of the community.

After four prior warnings, a fifth violation leaves us no choice but to permanently remove the member from the group.

Unfortunately, we do not have the time to do this for every photo that comes in with color. These are examples for you to see how many images have color when they are posted to our group.
