Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could see the whole picture of our life from beginning to end. That way we would be able to see every obstacle and every blessing in our lives before they happened. Unfortunately, we cannot do that. God wants us to put our faith in Him and as we learn to trust Him more and more, life’s circumstances don’t take such a toll on us.
It is very easy to spot young Christians. Many times, their lives are like a roller coaster. They are excited about something in life and the next thing you know, they are down in the dumps, worrying about what is going to happen to them. There are even some Christians who are always down in the dumps, always having a pity party for themselves and never able to believe and understand that they can trust God.
The author of Hebrews tells us that without faith, it is impossible to please God. How do we get more faith? First of all, we all get the “measure of faith (Rom. 12:3).” Then, the ONLY other way mentioned in the Bible tells us that faith comes by “hearing” the Word of God (Rom. 10:17).
Jesus IS the Word of God (Jn 1:1). Jesus came to show us, or to reveal to us, the nature of God. As we study God’s Word, we grow in faith by believing that God will do what He says. In the Old Testament, we see the father of our faith, Abraham. What an awesome guy Abraham was. He chose to believe everything God told him and God blessed him for that.
Romans 4:20, 21
20Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. 21He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever He promises.
If you call yourself a Christian, at some point, you are going to have to put your trust in God and stop worrying about what may happen in your life. If you never read the Bible or study it, you will never know the nature of our Father.
Do you believe every bit of the Word of God is true? The Word of God, the Bible, is either completely true or it is completely false. Which do you say it is? Are you convinced, like Abraham, that God is able to do what He says?
The second part of Heb. 11:6 says that we must believe that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. In the church, we have been taught a faux sense of humility. With that mindset, which is NOT what the Bible teaches, we will never receive anything from God.
Do you feel like God is absent from your life, read the Bible and see what God says about that. He says He will be with you forever and He will never leave or forsake you!
Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV)
6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Do you live in fear, worrying if some evil disease or sickness will destroy your life? Read Psalm 91 and see what “the Word” has to say concerning that.
Psalm 91:3
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
The answers to life’s hard questions are right there in the Bible when we understand the nature of our Father! Don’t waste anymore of your life in tears or in fear. Find out who God is and you will no longer live in fear or uncertainty!
