Lipscomb, the county seat of Lipscomb County, Texas is the only town I have ever heard of that claims there are more wild turkeys than people! Lipscomb county is the northeastern most county in the state of Texas. Along with Follett and Darrouzett, Lipscomb is one of only three towns in the county. In the 932 square miles that make up Lipscomb County, there are just over 3,000 people. Lipscomb is a beautiful little oasis in the dry and barren Texas Panhandle. It has become somewhat of a small community of artizans much like Marfa, Texas. Back around 1994, I spent a day there photographing the little town and all it has to offer. I would love to go back soon and do it again. I doubt that too much has changed.
