Most people know Salt Lake City for the Mormons and their beautiful temple. Before the Civil War, the U.S. government felt like the Mormons were a threat to them so they sent the largest group of American soldiers that had ever been assembled at that time to Utah. While there, this beautiful Catholic cathedral was built. If you get to Utah, be sure to go by and see this treasure!
