COUNTY, GEORGIA WILL OF JOHN McMULLAN
WILL BOOK "A"
In
the name of God Amen
I John McMullan of the county of Baldwin and Sate of Georgia being
in tolerable health of body and sound of mind and memory, blessed
be God for the same, calling to mind the mortality of my body and
knowing that it is appointed for all men to die, do make & ordain
this to be my last will and testament revoking all others - I give
my soul to God and my body to be decently buried by my friends;
Secondly
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Jane McMullan one half of
my lot of land in Baldwin County adjoining old Mr. Myrick whereon
Jesse O. Owsley now lives with all the improvements thereto belonging,
one negro man by the name Big Sam, my grey horse gig & harness,
one side saddle, two feather beds and furniture my large chest,
my Birch (Slab or Slat), one set of knives and forks, one set of
teaspoons, one set cups & saucers, one pot and oven, ten barrels
of corn six hundred pounds of pork one hundred pounds sugar, fifty
pounds coffee, one cow & calf.
3rd I give all the balance of my land to be equally divided
between my four sons (viz) William McMullan, Daniel McMullan, John
McMullan and Jeremiah McMullan. It is my will and wish that all
the rest of my property be sold on a credit of twelve months, or
at the discretion of my Executor, except the following property
(viz) one negro boy by the name of little Sam which I give and bequeath
to my little son Jeremiah McMullan, one feather bed and furniture
which I give & bequeath to Lemuel Crittenden. The balance of
my property when sold, the money arising from the sale to be equally
divided among my surviving children, as my daughters Betsy and Polly
have parted from their husbands it is my wish and desire that my
executors keep the money that will be coming to them in the division
& give it to them for their support as they think proper - I
appoint these my friend, my Executor, Lemuel Crittenden, Jane McMullan
and Daniel McMullan.

The within instrument propounded by Lemuel Crittenden as the last
will and testament of John McMullan dec'd was duly proven by the
oaths of Edwd Huff and Mathew Caswell two of the subscribing witnesses
thereto and admitted to record accordingly.
