Fast Track to Hell

We stole a car back in 93
My best friend, Kevin and me
We ran from the law but we got caught
They pulled their guns and Kevin got shot

They slapped the cuffs on and threw me in the car
After they beat me and left a few scars
They threw me into jail for a few years
Hard as a stone, I never shed a tear

When I was young I went the wrong way
Mom said, “Son you’d better serve the Lord today.”
But women and money were my life
I liked to drink fine whiskey and stay sky high

If I had only listened to her advice
A few good men would still be alive
I wouldn’t be rotting away in this cell
And I wouldn’t be on a fast track to hell

Never worked an honest day in my life
Never had much luck keeping a wife
I have roaming hands  and a wondering eye
Loved fast cars and danger in my life

I know what its like to be an outlaw
Been with the hottest women you ever saw
Made the finest whiskey in the land
Everything was hot that passed through my hand

Robbed a bank down in Tennessee
The lawmen were looking hard for me
They trapped me and we had a gun fight
Here I am now serving 15 to life
