When I look in the mirror
I’m amazed at what I see
I behold a stranger
An old man looking back at me

All the white in my beard
Reminds me of a younger day
Even then I longed for you
And every night I would bow my head and pray

Now my heart longs for you
I want to be with you every day
Though many miles separate us now
Soon we’ll be together forever to stay

Where have all those years gone
They aren’t even a memory
Some of them were so good
Others passed by so painfully

Until I met you
My world was such an empty place
My days were dark and gray
But that all changed when I saw your face

I know just how short life can be
But I don’t want this to ever end
I want to spend forever with you
My lover and my beautiful friend

You are the light of my life
Your smile snuffed out the darkness
Now my life is filled with joy
And these years are my best

Forever I’ll cherish you
And walk with you hand in hand
Share our special moments together
This has turned out better than I had ever planned
