Here I am again drunk and lonesome
Out in the desert, tired and cold
Wishing you were here to lay down beside me
Look into my heart and heal my soul
I wish I could tear open my heart
And bring a flood of rain
To replace this agony in my mind
And take away all of this pain
I need you here in my life again
So I know what’s really going on
Without you my life is a mess
Somehow I will have to carryon
I know where you’re going, and you’ll go without me
You made that decision long ago
To live your life without all the pain I’ve caused
My heart still feels that ol’ norther blow
Here I am again drunk and lonesome
Out in the desert, tired and cold
Wishing you were here to lay down beside me
Look into my heart and heal my soul
My campfire has died down to embers
Just like the love you once had for me
Now my life has no meaning
Like a man adrift and lost at sea
I’d like to believe there’s still a chance
That you could forgive all my wrongs
But I know the pain cuts way too deeply
So I’ll have to remember you in my songs
