I live up north of Amarillo where the dirty wind blows
One day I’m gonna get out of here and head down to Mexico
Find me a seniorita with long dark pretty hair
Drink cerveza, take siestas and live without a care

Cause I’ve had it with the American way of life
Head down to Mexico, find me a pretty wife
Hang out on the beach and drink cerveza all day
Live like my amigos, without a care all day

I never get a chance to leave the farm I’m out here all the time
There’s only so much dirt you can see without losing your mind
The land is so flat here you can see for a hundred miles
I’m so ready to get outta here, when I do it’ll be all smiles

My great granddaddy hunted buffalo here a long, long time ago
And my daddy died on this farm without anything to show
I followed in his footsteps and I live out here alone
I’ve never been happy out here and now I’m getting old

Cause I’ve had it with the American way of life
Pushing and shoving lord, mmmm you know it just ain’t right
Move to Veracruz and that’s where I’m gonna stay
Live like my amigos, without a care all day
