The TV preacher says “Send your money
And everything will go your way
Your troubles will be gone in the blink of an eye
As long as you do what I say
Behind the scenes he drives a big German car
And spends the weekdays on his yacht
He tells the world he hears from God
But, a holy man, he’s not
What about the preacher down the street
That you never took the time to get down and meet
He works hard trying to do what God said
Barely makes enough to keep his family fed
The TV preacher makes millions of dollars
Promising to heal the sick
People come out of wheelchairs on his show
Nobody knows it’s a trick
That TV preacher doesn’t care about you
He won’t be there in you’re time of need
He won’t be there to marry your kids
Or to bury you when you’re dead
The TV preacher will stand before God
And answer for his sins
He’ll be cast into the lake of fire
Along with all of his friends
He’ll stand before the Lord and the Lord will say
Depart from me I never knew you
You stole from the poor in my name
And you never spoke the truth
The preacher down the street prays for the sick
He shares the burdens of the weak
He gets calls at 2 a.m.
When he’s sick he still has to speak
His wife gets upset when she can’t feed the kids
And he wonders what they will do
The only hope he has is to trust the Lord
And he does this all for you
