What JayMc Plays

     I am an Americana music artist. What is Americana music?

     Americana is an amalgam of roots music formed by the confluence of the shared and varied traditions that make up the American musical ethos; specifically those sounds that are merged from folk, country, rhythm & blues, rock & roll and other external influential styles. Americana is popularly referred to, especially in print, as alternative country, alt-country or sometimes alt.country. (Wikipedia)

     I perform solo with my guitar and sometimes a harmonica. I play varied styles of music ranging from classic country, modern country, pop and southern rock. In my arsenal of music are many original songs that I have written. I use backing tracks along with guitar for many of the covers I sing.

     I grew up in Texas and my southern roots go deep! My teeth were cut on many old country stars like Buck Owens, George Jones, Jim Ed Brown, Bob Wills and Hank Williams. My songwriting was influenced by artists such as Roger Miller, Gordon Lightfoot, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
