Thank you for clicking on this link!

First, let me say that we appreciate all of you who are members of the BLACK & WHITE Photography group on Facebook and we appreciate all of the incredible photos that you are posting. It is because of you that BLACK & WHITE Photographers has become one of the premiere black & white photography groups on Facebook.

We do not enjoy when we have to delete anyone's post. We have done everything we can to make sure everyone's post follow our rules and guidelines.

Rules, Rules, Why Rules?

BLACK & WHITE Photographers was created to celebrate the art of black & white photography. To keep this group true to the founding vision, we had to create some rules. Most photography groups on Facebook have rules and we are no different.

Most Posts Would Never Need to be Deleted if the Member Would Read the Rules of the Group.

The group rules are easily accessible in the Featured section of the group. Please take a moment to read and understand those rules. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I can help.

When Your Photo is Deleted, Facebook Sends You a Notification

I know it is frustrating any time your post is deleted from a Facebook group. If you post was deleted, Facebook will always send you a notification. Please read that notification.

The notification that is sent to you will tell you which rule/rules were broken and, many times, will have an additional note included which will explain exactly why your photo was deleted.

How to Check Your Notification

Your photo was deleted because it violated one of the Group Rules. In this example, I use a photo that is not black & white but your post may have been deleted for other reasons.

To show you how to check your notification, I purposely posted a sepia toned photo to BLACK & WHITE Photographers. This is the photo.

This photo violates our Group Rule #1 which says only Black & White images are allowed in the group. So, the photo was deleted from the group and I received a notification from FB.

You can see the photo I posted in this screen shot and at the top of the screen, next to my photo, circled in red, you see that I have a notification. You can clearly see that it is NOT a black & white image. Most photos that are not black & white, stand out like a sore thumb when looking all these photos together.

I click on the notification and this is what i see.

At the top of the notification, you will see if you have received previous warnings for violating group rules. We only do this so we can see if there is someone who continues to violate our rules after having a post deleted. If a person continues to violate our group rules there three things we may do. 1. We may put them into post approval, where every post they make must first be checked by the admin or moderators for approval to post in the room. 2. The poster's membership could be suspended for a set amount of time, anywhere from three days to one month. During this time the member will not be able to participate in the group. 3. If the violation/violations are serious enough and continue, even after several warnings, the member may be permanently banned from the group.

Below the image you posted, circled in red, click on "See details."

Scroll down to the bottom of the notification and you will see "Feedback." Many times, the Admin or Moderator will leave feedback. In this case, we see that the photo was removed because it contained color. A link is included in the feedback, in this case, that will take you to a web page that will show you how to fix your photo. Some notifications will not have feedback.

Under "Group rules violated" you will see which rules you have violated. This will be in EVERY notification when your post has been removed.

Our Group Rules are in the "Featured" section of the group and also, if you are using a cell phone, they are in the "About" section.
