Books About Healing

If you are in need of physical healing, I very strongly recommend Healing the Sick by T.L. Osborn and Healed of Cancer by Dodi Osteen..

Healing the Sick
by T.L. Osborn

Thomas Lee Osborn (born December 23, 1923) is an American Pentecostal evangelist and author based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Osborn was born at Pocasset in Oklahoma. His crusade in Uganda in 1957 is said to have laid the foundation for substantial growth in Pentecostalism in that country.

In my opinion, this is the best book ever written on the subject of healing. It is easy to read and easy to understand. T.L. and Daisy Osborn were missionaries and literally saw hundreds of thousands of people healed by the hand of God through their ministry.

Healed of Cancer
by Dodi Osteen

Dodi Osteen, who, with her husband, pastored Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1981. She was given only weeks to live, with or without chemotherapy. Healing evangelists from around the world prayed for her and she was not healed as a result of their prayers. In her own account, she tells how she inundated herself with the scriptures and has lived many, many years since her diagnosis.

Books by Kenneth E. Hagin

I discovered Kenneth Hagin's ministry when I was around nineteen years of age. Hagin was a "stickler" for the Word of God and that is the greatest thing I always appreciated about his ministry. I attended Rhema Bible College from 1984 to 1986, graduating from the Pastors Group. I was ordained by Kenneth Hagin in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1988. Hagin is considered to be the "Father of the Word of Faith movement." I would very highly recommend any and all of his study material. I owe much of my spiritual growth to his teachings on the Word of God.

Bible Faith Study Course
by Kenneth E. Hagin

What most Christians think is faith is not faith, but rather, it is hope. We need hope but it plays a different role in our spiritual lives than faith does. So, many Believers don't know the difference between hope and faith. That is why so many of them live defeated lives. I went to Hagin's Bible college in Oklahoma. Hagin taught faith, faith, faith! The lessons in this online book will help you find out how to really please God becauwe, "without faith it impossible to please Him."

The Believer's Authority
by Kenneth E. Hagin

When God created Adam, He gave Adam all authority and dominion over this earth and all of the animals in it. In this book, Kenneth Hagin writes about the authority we should be operating in as Followers of Christ. This book changed the life of Charles Capps who went on to become one of my favorite teachers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Why Tongues?
by Kenneth E. Hagin

I grew up thinking that tongues were "of the devil." Boy was I wrong! I was baptized with the Holy Spirit and I began to speak in tongues at that very moment. Instantly, the Lord took away the desire for alcohol and marijuana. My life has never been the same! One of my cousins was baptised in the Holy Spirit after reading this small booklet!

The Midas Touch
by Kenneth E. Hagin

Do you want your children to prosper? Would you rather them be living on the streets, not able to provide for themselves? God wants His children to prosper and to be in health. Too many Christians are against the "Prosperity Message." One of the men that brought the prosperity message to the church was Kenneth E. Hagin. Unfortunately, some people took what Hagin taught and twisted it so Hagin called the world's teachers of the prosperity message to Tulsa so he could set them straight on what the Word of God teaches about prosperity. This book is the result.

Books About Smith Wigglesworth

Wigglesworth is considered one of the most influential evangelists in the early history of Pentecostalism and is also credited with helping give the movement a large religious audience. Wigglesworth said he had made a commitment to God that he would not sleep at night before he had won a soul for Christ every day. He claimed that on one occasion he could not sleep because he had not met this commitment, and that he went out into the night and met an alcoholic to whom he spoke and persuaded to become a believer. Wigglesworth believed that healing came through faith, and he was flexible about the methods he employed. When he was forbidden to lay hands on audience members by the authorities in Sweden, he preached for a "corporate healing", by which people laid hands on themselves. He also practiced anointing with oil, and the distribution of prayer handkerchiefs (one of which was sent to King George V).

Smith Wigglesworth: Apostle of Faith
by Stanley H. Frodsham

I was a young Christian. I had just been baptized in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. I had been raised thinking this was not something God did anymore but it happened to me and the Holy Spirit filled me with POWER! My life was completely changed! One of my friends, who had just come to the Lord, handed me a copy of this book. It encouraged me and helped me to walk a deeper walk with Jesus. I wish every Christian would read this book!

When I was eighteen years old, I ran across a copy of the Dake Annotated Bible. I was absolutely amazed at the amount of study notes. Not long thereafter, I purchased my first copy. Books by A.A. Allen

Between the mid 1940's and mid 1950's, there was a great healing revival that spread across the United States. Miraculous healings took place and were certified by medical doctors! One of the leaders of this great revival was A.A. Allen. I pastored my first church in Lamar, Colorado and that is where Allen began his ministry.

The Ministry of the Prophet
by Jay S. McMullan

The letter, written by the Apostle Paul to the people at the Church in Ephesus, tells us about the five-fold ministry gifts of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher. The Church has no problem believing there are still evangelists, pastors and teachers and they understand what their role is in the body of Christ. What about the ministries of the Apostle and the Prophet? Did they just cease to exist at some point after Paul wrote to the Ephesians? I do not believe they did and I go into detail explaining what the ministry of the modern day, New Testament prophet is.

Books About Battles with American Indians

I grew up in the Texas Panhandle, not far from the Oklahoma Panhandle, right in the middle of the Southern Plains, home to the Kiowa and Comanche Indians. I am amazed at how the history of the struggle between white settlers and the American Indians was not taught in schools. There were many battles between the U.S. Army and the American Indians. Where I grew up, it was mainly the Kiowa and Comanche tribes. They were incredible warriors and the stories of the battles are fascinating. The bravery of the American Indian is unrivaled! Many of the battles of the Red River War were fought not far from where I was raised. I did not start looking into all of this until after I was fifty years old. The "Red River War" was a conglomeration of several battles that, in the end, drove the Southern Plains Indians to the reservation.

Below, are a couple of books I encourage you to read if you would like to know more about the Indians of the Southern Plains, more notably, the Comanches.

My Life on the Plains
by George Armstrong Custer

Penned by General George A. Custer himself! After the Civil War, Custer spent most of the rest of his military service in the northern Great Plains. He attacked Black Kettle just north of Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Some say it was an all-out slaughter of the Indians. This was as far south as Custer ever fought. This book is an incredibly fascinating look into the life of a Cavalry soldier during the time of the Indian wars.

Life and Adventures of Billy Dixon
by Olive Dixon

Billy Dixon led an adventurous life. He had read about the Great Plains and set out to work and live in them. In the Second Battle of Adobe Walls, south of present day, Spearman, Texas, Dixon shot an Indian with a Sharps .50 caliber buffalo rifle. What was so fascinating about that shot was that the Indian he killed was over one half a mile away. Also, Dixon lost all of his rifles when he crossed the raging Canadian River to help fight the battle at Adobe Walls. His famous shot was accomplished by a borrowed gun and without any kind of "scope." If you are interested in the "Red River War", you will enjoy reading about Billy Dixon!

Books about the Harmonica

I bought my first harmonica. I knew nothing about how to play one and there was no one to teach me. Years later, I met a man in Houston at a music store who was a harmonica player. He showed me his case full of harmonicas and the microphone he used when he played. I was fascinated but still didn't start playing for several years. Finally, I began to play blues harp and have continued on until now. Harmonica is an easy instrument to learn and now, with the Internet, pretty much anyone can learn to play!

Faith is not knowing God can, it is knowing God IS!
