Hi!
My
name is Jay McMullan and I'm excited to have you visit
my website. Through this site, I hope to introduce myself
to you and also make this a place where other aspiring
songwriters can share ideas, learn from each other and find some valuable resources to help in their songwriting.
I'll be adding more to the site as time goes by. Be
sure to check the links to the left to find out more
about me and what I do. Other links will take you to
other excellent songwriting and guitar websites.
Besides writing songs and playing guitar, I am also a fine-art photographer. I owned a photo studio for six years, I shot crime scenes and fashion. Now, I mainly photograph landscapes and wildlife. If you'd like to take a look at my work, go to UtahWest.com.

Harley and Annabelle Russell
The Mediocre Music Makers at the Sandhills Curiosity Shop in Erick, Oklahoma
On May 21, 2007, my girlfriend and I were returning home from my daughter's wedding the day before in Ft. Worth, Texas. We stopped in Erick to see my aunt. Before we did though, we stopped in what we thought was a thrift shop on Erick's Sheb Wooley Avenue. I had seen this building numerous times with it's old gas station and highway signs but had never stopped in. As we walked in the door we were greeted by Harley and Annabelle Russell. Harley is an Erick native who played guitar for several well known musicians. Annabelle is from California but had family in Erick. Harley and Annabelle sang a song for my girlfriend and I and my girlfriend suggested I sing one of my songs for them. Harley unselfishly offered me a shot of Jack Daniels and then accompanied me as I sang, "My Wife, My Friend, My Lover." I have to confess that my girlfriend thought, at first, that Harley and Annabelle may be serial killers and that no one knew where we were! LOL. She soon lightened up and we had a great time. Harley knew my aunt and my grandfather. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to spend at Harley and Annabelle's Sandhills Curiousity Shop. If you ever get through Erick, be sure and stop by to see them. They were definitely the highlight of our trip.
